Vero Updates WorkPLAN for Woodworking

GLOUCESTERSHIRE, UK, Oct 13, 2017 – A new version of WorkPLAN, the ERP and production management solution from Vero Software, is now available, dedicated to the woodworking industry. WorkPLAN is already widely acclaimed in the automotive and aeronautics sectors, and this new version has been specifically designed for the carpentry, woodworking and fittings sector.

Vero has drawn on the vast experience gained through its Cabinet Vision CAD/CAM and Alphacam CAM software solutions, which have been leaders in this sector for over 20 years, to create a fully integrated CAD/CAM/ERP system for the woodworking industry’s specific requirements.

The development came after Cabinet Vision wanted to expand its range of services to over 10,000 active clients in North America, and it was agreed to offer a completely integrated solution by incorporating the Sales Activity and Production Control Management modules from the WorkPLAN software.

Within a period of just a few months, the sales and technical teams developed the interfaces that were required to allow technical data synchronization and the creation of quotations in WorkPLAN from information generated in the Quotations menu (design and price calculations in Cabinet Vision).

Design information originating from Cabinet Vision is automatically fed into WorkPLAN.  The list of panels to be cut is clearly identified, along with – for each of them – the list of produced parts and the CNC programs generated by Cabinet Vision’s Screen-To-Machine module or Alphacam. Panel supply management is simplified by using purchase orders or the stock, with prior reservation if necessary.

Labels generated by Cabinet Vision monitors production at each stage of the cutting process by reading the panels’ barcode.

WorkPLAN Business Manager Christophe Mas says: “The seamless integration of the two software applications will allow users to improve their productivity by optimizing project job tracking, supply management and stock control, along with production monitoring.”

New functions have been developed for this dedicated woodworking-focused version of WorkPLAN, including Packing Management. “This will be available in the 2018 R1 release, and all users will be able to benefit, whatever their sector of activity.”

The woodworking version of WorkPLAN was previewed at the AWFS trade fair in Las Vegas in the summer, which led to the signature of a large number of projects on Vero’s stand there, and over 30 concrete projects have now been finalised.
