Mahr and the German manufacturer of 3D surface metrology, NanoFocus, are now working together and have signed a corresponding cooperation agreement. As of May, Mahr will be offering confocal microscopes from NanoFocus as the new Mahr product family “MarSurf CM”. The new devices will be presented at Control in Stuttgart at the end of April. The innovation leader for production metrology expands and completes its own tactile portfolio with optical metrology.

Optical measuring technology is becoming increasingly important for many applications due to its high measuring speed and high measuring accuracy. Mahr is now expanding its product portfolio of tactile and optical measuring stations with high-resolution, confocal 3D surface measuring systems and has concluded an exclusive cooperation agreement with NanoFocus AG. NanoFocus was founded in 1994 and has since focused on confocal technology.

Mahr traditionally offers tactile measuring stations and a comprehensive product portfolio of optical measurement technology from a single source and confirms its claim as an application specialist.

The confocal 3D surface measuring systems of the new MarSurf CM product range are used, for example, in medical technology, the automotive industry, materials management or by manufacturers of electrical engineering. The optical measuring systems have several advantages: In addition to the high measuring speed, they work independently of the material and without contact, for example for sensitive surfaces.
