Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division has announced the launch of the 360º Cell, a turnkey solution for fully-automated 3D measurement in the quality room or on the shop floor. Designed to optimize the efficiency of Hexagon’s optical measurement technology range, the 360º Cell combines automation components to maximize utilization with safety features to ensure safe operations in busy manufacturing environments. A modular solution compatible with various robotic systems, the 360º Cell requires only standard electrical connections, making it easy to install and quick to make operational.

The 360º Cell’s default dual-turntable configuration features advanced controls that enable a part to be safely loaded on one turntable while another part is being inspected on the other turntable, ensuring 100% utilization of the cell. The solution is compatible with a wide variety of fixturing systems, making loading a simpler process and reducing costs for checking fixtures. The 360° Cell complies with the local and regional safety standards in effect in major manufacturing markets, as well as with all EU-standards and regulations. Access to the cell is controlled by a double door and security lock, while the space between the workstation and the robot uses an electronic barrier to ensure operator safety.
