DARLINGTON, UK, May 18, 2018 – One of the UK’s leading manufacturer and global supplier of fire, blast and heat protection systems has successfully been appointed to deliver its world recognised heatshield product on the OMV Petrom Platforms across Romania.

Headquartered in Teesside and with facilities all over the globe, Mech-Tool Engineering Ltd has been appointed by a leading oil and gas installation specialist in Romania to deliver its world-renowned heat shield solutions to the largest integrated oil and gas group in South East Europe.
Operating more than 200 oil and gas fields in Romania – with a combined volume of 166kboe per day produced in 2016 – OMV Petrom operate approximately 7,400 active wells and more than 700 facilities across South East Europe including gas processing planning and tank farms.
As part of the contract, MTE will design, engineer and manufacture 850²m of stainless steel double skin heatshields for the OMV Petrom platforms.
