Gilbane Hires Rob Walker as Project Exe, Aviation COE Leader

HOUSTON, TX, Nov 28, 2018 – Gilbane Building Company, a global leader in the construction and facility-related services industry, is pleased to announce Rob Walker has joined Gilbane as a project executive and leader of its Aviation Center of Excellence (COE). The COE includes multiple internal experts from around the country who bring the institutional knowledge, lessons learned and best practices from a diverse portfolio of aviation projects.  Rob will guide the strategic direction of Gilbane in support of the continued expansion of its resume for the past 61 years in the aviation market segment.

Rob brings more than 20 years of aviation industry experience, most recently serving as Managing Director at Delta Air Lines overseeing projects such as the Terminal Relocation of 20+ Airlines and Terminal T2/3 at Los Angeles Intercontinental Airport (LAX). Prior to his tenure at Delta, his industry experience includes projects at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) Terminal E, T7/T8 Modernization at LAX, as well as a wide variety of facility development projects for both Delta Air Lines and United Airlines (formerly Continental Airlines) around the country. Rob earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University.  His depth of knowledge in the aviation industry has led him to serve on multiple panels for various aviation industry groups such as the Airport Consultants Council (ACI) and American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).

Based in the Gilbane Houston office, Rob will be part of the leadership team on the Mickey Leland International Terminal project at George Bush IAH.
