FocalSpec Announces LCI401, LCI1201 3D Imaging Sensors

FocalSpec announced the introduction of two sensors for characterization and inspection of clear and reflective parts and surfaces. the LCI401 and LCI1201 3D Line Confocal Imaging for QC and R&D surface imaging and metrology applications.

These sensors are specifically designed to meet the needs of system integration. The SDK including C+, C++, C#, Halcon, LabVIEW, OpenCV, Python and MATLAB assists application development.

These sensors are based on FocalSpec’s Line Confocal Imaging technology that combines 3D topography, tomography and 2D grayscale intensity into one sensor which enables 3D imaging of surfaces that are difficult to measure. LCI sensors provide sub-micron precision, detection speed of up to 10 million 3D points/second and is suitable for demanding products including mirror-like, shiny, glossy and transparent materials. Applications include 3D dimensions, surface roughness, step height, width, gap & offset, burr height and more. With the 3D Line Confocal Scanner UULA, it is possible to use the same technology in manufacturing facilities as well as R&D and metrology laboratories.

The official product launch will take place at the Automation Technology Expo (ATX) West, part of MD&M West in Anaheim, CA, February 5 – 7, 2019. FocalSpec will exhibit at their booth #4281.
