Tungaloy’s line of high feed milling cutters, DoFeed, now includes tool bodies with optimized internal coolant supply.

DoFeed is a close-pitch high feed milling cutter line, highly regarded among manufacturers in the general engineering and die and mold sectors. The new tool bodies incorporate insert pockets each furnished with a coolant outlet. The cutting fluid or air is precisely directed to the tip of the cutting edge to effectively remove chips and heat from the cutting zone, while promoting tool life stability and predictability.

This new system is especially effective in applications such as shouldering with small cutting widths or circular-interpolating from pre-drilled holes, where the coolant supply was prone to be inadequate with conventional tools. Thermal control in the cutting zone is also critical to improve insert life in machining heat-resistant superalloys and titanium alloys where the inserts are subjected to high heat created during the cut and are prone to short life.

The new tool body lineup will include cylindrical shanks and modular heads.
