TEDCF Offers Free CAD Training to Teachers, Students

SPRINGVILLE, CA, Apr 16, 2020 – TEDCF Publishing, a member of the Autodesk Developer Network and a SOLIDWORKS Solution Partner, today announced they are donating free CAD training for teachers and students in the United States to help with remote learning.

While the Covid-19 pandemic has changed the lives of every American, teachers and educators have been thrust into a new era of remote learning. Within days of the national shutdown requests for assistance from teachers and instructors began pouring into TEDCF Publishing’s support desk. They needed a remote method of teaching their students 3D CAD, and they needed it fast.

“Given the COVID-19 crisis and having to go online for the rest of the year I thought of TEDCF Publishing as a possible solution.” said John Bible, Adjunct Faculty Instructor, Chattanooga State Community College. “They have the best training videos across the board for SolidWorks and Autodesk Inventor bar none. I explained my dilemma to David (David Melvin, PE, Owner of TEDCF Publishing) and he was more than willing to offer help. He even went the extra mile to setup help for my students.”

With the help of StreamHoster.com, TEDCF Publishing quickly developed a free access website for teachers and students. Teachers have free access to sign up and preview training for their students’ needs, request free access for students, and monitor their students’ logins.

“The StreamHoster team was happy to help TEDCF Publishing accomplish their goals.” said Michael Barsoumian, President of StreamHoster. TEDCF Publishing’s training videos use StreamHoster’s advanced technology to provide true streaming video to their customers. It automatically adapts to provide the best video quality and performance regardless of viewer’s internet speed, which is critical for students and teachers in rural areas.

“Teachers are some of the hardest working people I know.” said David Melvin, PE. “I know because I’m married to one. They work longer hours than most people think, and they’re dedicated to teaching their students. Suddenly switching to remote learning has been a challenge for them, and I just decided to help. It’s what American’s do.”

The company has also developed a simple signup procedure.

  1. Teachers fill out the short signup form.

  2. TEDCF Publishing approves and sets up a teacher account. This gives the teacher the ability to preview the training to see how it can fit into their curriculum.
  3. The teacher requests account activation for their students.
  4. TEDCF Publishing emails students and the teacher User IDs, Passwords, and documentation used in the courses.
