Akribis Announces RDM-A Series Rod Motors

Akribis Systems has announced a new addition to its varied motion control product line: RDM-A Series rod motors for space-constrained applications requiring high motor forces and smooth linear motion.

RDM-A Series rod motors are compact in size and feature a tubular design to distribute magnetic flux evenly along the circumference of the stator. With this approach, they achieve continuous forces from 2.1 to 137.8N and peak forces from 6.2 to 413.4N. An air gap between the coil and magnet track enables non-contact axial linear movement and steady force production over the length of the stroke, and ironless construction ensures cog-free motion. The result: high motor forces, smooth motion, efficiency and precision.

A multi-mover option allows single motor control over multiple movers on one track to simplify complex, multi-axis applications.

Emerson Announces AVENTICS Series 625 Sentronic Valves

Emerson announced the new AVENTICS Series 625 Sentronic Proportional Pressure Control Valves. With a control deviation of less than 0.5%, the new valves are designed to deliver highly accurate, electronic proportional pressure control and provide the flexibility needed to support sophisticated pneumatic control engineering applications. Data acquisition software (DaS) software included with Series 625 Sentronic valves also make it possible to quickly startup, monitor and control valves directly on a PC.

Emerson AVENTICS Series 625 Sentronic valves and software provide flexible, precise control for high-precision manufacturing, ensuring efficient operations directly from your PC.

Four valve sizes from 1 millimeter up to 20 mm support a comprehensive range of flow rates, from 55 liters per minute to 4,700 l/min. Pressure capabilities range from vacuum levels up to 50 bar, which can reduce the overall number of valves required for a machine design. Housing material is available in brass, aluminum or stainless steel and sealing material in nitrile (NBR) or fluoroelastomer (FKM) options. There are also three sets of connectors, M12 5-pin, M12 8-pin and M16 7-pin.

As development and manufacturing phases continue to get shorter, fast startup procedures and reliable, controllable manufacturing processes are more important than ever. Using the DaS software, operators can diagnose, control, repair or individually configure valves. They can also perform cascade controls when applications require exceptional precision and other complex control loops. The expanded range of diagnostic and monitoring functions include input pressure, commanded pressure, internal temperature and ethernet communication.

About Velo3D:

Velo3D is a metal 3D printing technology company. 3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing (AM), has a unique ability to improve the way high-value metal parts are built. However, legacy metal AM has been greatly limited in its capabilities since its invention almost 30 years ago. This has prevented the technology from being used to create the most valuable and impactful parts, restricting its use to specific niches where the limitations were acceptable.

Velo3D has overcome these limitations so engineers can design and print the parts they want. The company’s solution unlocks a wide breadth of design freedom and enables customers in space exploration, aviation, power generation, energy, and semiconductor to innovate the future in their respective industries. Using Velo3D, these customers can now build mission-critical metal parts that were previously impossible to manufacture. The fully integrated solution includes the Flow print preparation software, the Sapphire family of printers, and the Assure quality control system—all of which are powered by Velo3D’s Intelligent Fusion manufacturing process. The company delivered its first Sapphire system in 2018 and has been a strategic partner to innovators such as SpaceX, Aerojet Rocketdyne, Lockheed Martin, Avio, and General Motors. Velo3D has been named as one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies for 2023.

Bentley Q1 Revenue Up 9% to $338M with $70M Profit

EXTON, PA, May 10, 2024 – Bentley Systems, Inc., the infrastructure engineering software company, announced results for its first quarter ended March 31, 2024. For the first quarter of 2024, the company reported revenue of $337.8M up 8.76% compared to $310.6M revenue of fourth quarter of 2023, with net income $70.3M.

CEO Greg Bentley said, “We are pleased with our 24Q1 performance, as year-over-year ARR growth of 11% (excluding China, 11.5%) is consistent with our recent financial outlook range for 2024. Profitability and operating cash flow started the year ahead of our expected pace, with subscription revenues (91% of total) fully on pace, although our digital integrator Cohesive’s professional services business unrelated to Bentley Systems software has declined significantly from 2023.

“Coinciding with our 40th anniversary observance, on March 21st in London we announced that COO Nicholas Cumins will succeed me as CEO on July 1st, as I take up the new role of Executive Chair. Through this generational transition we can perpetuate our characteristic steadiness, while cognizant that unprecedented opportunities presented by infrastructure digital twins could springboard, for Bentley Systems, transformative growth.”

COO Nicholas Cumins said, “I again thank the Board of Directors for entrusting me with the responsibility of following in Greg’s footsteps as CEO. With our singular focus on helping users improve infrastructure delivery and performance, Bentley is well positioned to address the infrastructure sectors’ biggest challenges, including the widening gap in engineering resource capacity. Our 24Q1 results are consistent with the trends we have seen in previous quarters, led by strong growth in Public Works / Utilities, and solid growth in Resources.”

CFO Werner Andre said, “We are pleased with the strong start to the year, which puts us in a good position to achieve our full-year outlook. Our strong 24Q1 operating margin and cash flow performance enabled us to de-lever by 0.5 times Adjusted EBITDA in the quarter, and by 1.7 times since the beginning of 2023. With all remaining debt protected from high or rising interest rates through very low fixed coupons on our convertible notes and our interest rate swap, we are well positioned to maintain our dividend, share repurchases, and programmatic M&A readiness.”

A complete chart of the financial results is available here.
