W. CONSHOHOCKEN, PA, Nov 28, 2017 – After receiving inquiries from industry and academia, ASTM International announced today that it is extending deadlines by one week for letters-of-intent and full proposals for a new center of excellence in additive manufacturing. Many interested parties throughout the world have asked for more time to respond to the RFP.

“We are receiving a strong and enthusiastic response to our request for proposals,” said Mohsen Seifi, Ph.D., the organization’s director of additive manufacturing programs. “This extension reflects our commitment to listening to and responding to needs from potential proposers as we move through this important process.”

As previously announced, ASTM International is calling for industry-university proposals aimed at creating a global innovation hub that advances additive manufacturing technical standards, related R&D, education and training, and more.

The deadline for submitting a letter of intent has been moved from today (Nov. 27) to Dec. 4, at 12 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The deadline for full proposals has also been extended by one week, from December 15 to December 22, at 5 PM Eastern Standard Time.
