NVBOTS Launches Fundable Rewards Campaign for 3D Printing

NVBOTS_logoBOSTON, MA, Oct 8, 2014 – NVBOTS, creator of the world’s first fully-automated 3D printer, announced it has initiated a two-part Fundable Rewards campaign, giving interested parties the opportunity to support growing adoption of the NVBOTS 3D printing solution. Through the program, contributors can receive discounted printers and donate a printer to the school system of their choice, as well as receive student-designed 3D objects, NVBOTS T-Shirts and access to commercial packages. In addition, since NVBOTS made it into the top 25 of Fundable’s Crowd2Shelf campaign, participants can also play a role in getting the NVPrinter into Staples stores.

“In order to truly leverage the power of 3D printing, we must train the next generation of scientists, engineers, designers and inventors on design for 3D printing,” said NVBOTS CEO AJ Perez. “By providing the skills and simple fabrication tools, such as the NVPrinter, I believe we will see a radical shift in the innovation cycle. Limited access to capital equipment can restrict the potential of a creative mind. We hope to eliminate this obstacle through the Fundable rewards campaign.”

Designed to fuel innovation in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) education and in business, the NVBOTS 3D Printing experience enables users to bring ideas to life – unlike any other 3D printer solution. Key features and benefits include:

  • The world’s first fully-automated 3D printer, enabling users to safely print unlimited parts, without ever having to fully engage the printer
  • The ability to easily share and operate NVPrinters 24×7, from any device
  • A cloud-based interface that dramatically simplifies the 3D printing process, allowing users to submit a file, easily tailor the job to desired specs and monitor remotely (through video feedback)
  • 3D printing curricula to help promote hands-on learning
  • Certified filament that has been tested on the NVBOTS printers, eliminating issues often found with lower-quality filament
  • Full service support to all users, including guidance on best practices and help with any issues that may arise
  • Flexible leasing structures

Citizen Schools, a national nonprofit that partners with public middle schools in low-income communities to expand hands-on learning opportunities for students during a longer school day, will be one of the primary beneficiaries of the Fundable crowdsourcing campaign. Money generated will enable NVBOTS to donate NVPrinters to Citizen Schools partner schools in Boston and Chelsea, MA.

“At Citizen Schools, some of our students have already been able to experience the NVPrinter, which has inspired them in ways never thought possible,” said Steven Rothstein, CEO of Citizen Schools. “The fact that NVBOTS is working to provide us with additional 3D Printers is a testament to how passionate they are about helping our students thrive in STEM education.”

NVBOTS anticipates having 25 NVPrinters in the field by the end of 2014, and is already in use in additional organizations such as MIT’s Martin Trust Center for Entrepreneurship.

“We’re excited to see NVBOTS continue on in the Crowd2Shelf Contest,” said Fundable CEO Wil Schroter. It’s an incredible opportunity for an early stage company to get in front of a top-tier retailer like Staples, and it gives them an incredible potential path for rapid growth.”
