GraspLet Uses floLIVE to Expand into IoT Sector

LONDON, UK, May 20, 2024 – GraspLet, a UK-based telecommunications and information technology company, announces that by utilizing floLIVE, the creator of the world’s first and largest hyperlocal global cellular network and a leading provider of global connectivity and network services for IoT, it has expanded its services into the Internet of Things (IoT).

“By 2027, 29 billion IoT connections are expected, creating a significant market value for connectivity and connectivity-management solutions. Understanding that value, global organization GraspLet has diversified its services to deliver global connectivity and support to this rapidly growing technology sector through its partnership with floLIVE.

“floLIVE is excited to help GraspLet enter the very promising IoT market,” floLIVE’s MVNO partner lead Europe & Middle East Kieran Chury said. “Connectivity service providers are the lifeblood of IoT and it’s a very high growth industry – but not without its challenges. The more seamless connectivity providers can deliver these vital communications, the greater their success is in the market, and that’s what we are helping to provide to GraspLet.

”Delivering connectivity that meets the critical, complex demands in IoT can be incredibly complex, challenged by a fragmented ecosystem of connectivity providers, hundreds of use cases with varying requirements, and the management of significant numbers of device fleets.

“Ecosystem collaboration is crucial for enabling IoT success, as numerous important elements must be highly interoperable to deliver key results. GrapLet is thrilled to embark on this journey through strategic collaboration with floLIVE, paving the way for a more connected future where IoT connectivity is seamless, scalable, and tailored to the unique needs of each industry.” says GraspLet director Arunkumar Ramaswamy said.

By utilizing floLIVE’s global network and management platform, GraspLet is able to achieve:

  • Global Coverage with a Single SKU SIM: Instead of managing multiple SIMs from different network operators, GraspLet can simplify logistics using a single SIM that provides worldwide connectivity. This is made possible through access to a robust library of top-tier network operators.
  • Flexibility with Multi-profile SIMs: GraspLet can deploy Multi-IMSI SIMs, allowing for the utilization of multiple network profiles. This flexibility enables devices to autonomously switch networks for enhanced availability and fault tolerance. Additionally, GraspLet offers eUICC SIM cards, where the floLIVE Multi-IMSI serves as the primary profile, combining the advantages of both technologies.
  • Comprehensive Network Visibility: Through floLIVE’s connectivity management platform, GraspLet gains full visibility into network traffic from various devices and endpoints. This proactive monitoring capability empowers GraspLet to optimize network performance, enhance security measures, and troubleshoot issues promptly, thereby improving operational efficiency and minimizing downtime.
  • Customization to Suit Diverse Industries: GraspLet caters to a range of industries such as payment solutions, transportation, healthcare tech, banking, and travel, each with unique requirements. Customization plays a crucial role in meeting the diverse needs of IoT applications across these sectors.
  • High-Security Standards: floLIVE SIMs offer robust security features, including secure OTA updates and the utilization of external HSM for key management, ensuring a high level of protection for GraspLet’s operations and data.

Qt, Qualcomm Partner for IoT Development

ESPOO, Finland, Apr 15, 2024 – Qt Group, and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. are collaborating to streamline development of advanced graphical user interfaces (GUI) and software quality assurance for industrial IoT devices.

The combined force of Qt’s cross-platform development tools and Qualcomm Technologies’ means IoT manufacturers could significantly accelerate their devices’ time-to-market.

Qualcomm Technologies, one of the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturers, has long provided processors for devices in industries spanning smartphones, automobiles, Extended Reality, and IoT. Porting Qt Group’s platform on Qualcomm Technologies’ software significantly streamlines how software vendors develop and test UI solutions with Qualcomm Technologies’ advanced processors. It also greatly increases the ease and speed with which hardware vendors can, at scale, develop Systems on Modules (SoM) – tiny computer systems with ready-made components that can be used to easily create embedded electronic devices (from robots to security cameras).

In addition to these UI capabilities, OEMs accessing Qualcomm Technologies’ processors that support Qt can also access Qt Group’s intuitive, user-friendly software development and quality assurance tools, drastically lowering production barriers for manufacturers.

“When you tune out the noise surrounding tech innovation today, what is it really at the end of the day that impacts end users the most? It’s the user experience – specifically the user interface,” says Roger Mazzella, senior product manager at Qt Group. “At Qt Group, our team has been proud to collaborate with Qualcomm Technologies in the automotive industry over the years. Now, we get to expand the benefits of all that groundwork to the IoT market, to which Qualcomm Technologies is well suited. Their high-powered processors handle data-heavy communication while providing ultra-fast performance that developers and end users expect.”

“The benefit of Qt’s technologies is that they already have a history of implementation across 70 industries,” says Juhapekka Niemi, senior vice president, product management at Qt Group. “We will give hardware and software vendors for IoT the UI/UX development and QA tools they need right out of the box. Since these vendors don’t have to perform any integrations themselves, the ease of developing GUIs significantly cuts down the time it takes to launch their products.”

By leveraging Qt’s development tools and framework, IoT manufacturers can apply advanced 3D graphics capabilities to their device’s UI, except in a much leaner package. Other frameworks, such as game engines, also cater to high-fidelity graphics, but these normally include features that are not necessary for creating GUIs on IoT devices. Since the Qt framework instead tailors its features to these IoT devices, developers can build and run the UIs on far lower hardware requirements.

“At Qualcomm Technologies, we strongly believe in building an industry ecosystem that allows manufacturers to create excellent hardware and software solutions for vertical markets using our chipsets,” says Manvinder Singh, vice president of strategy and partner solutions development of IoT, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. “This collaboration gives developers a ready-made solution to build their creative solutions on top of.”

Qt Group’s tools for designing, developing, and assuring the quality of products aim to promote closer alignment between developers and designers, streamlining workflows by letting them work simultaneously within the same framework. The tools are ideal for cross-platform development, particularly for low-powered and embedded devices.

About Qt Group

Qt Group is a global software company, trusted by industry leaders and over 1.5 million developers worldwide to create applications and smart devices that users love. They help customers to increase productivity through the entire product development lifecycle: from UI design and software development to quality management and deployment. Their customers are in more than 70 different industries in over 180 countries. Qt Group employs some 800 people, and its net sales in 2023 were 180.7 MEUR.
