Virtalis Appoints Tom McDonnell to Delivery Team

Virtalis_logoCHESHIRE, UK, May 22, 2015 – VIRTALIS has just hired University of Nottingham Mechanical Engineering graduate, Tom McDonnell, to join its growing systems delivery team on Trafford Park, Manchester. Virtalis is one of the world’s leading virtual reality companies and its systems delivery team is responsible for installing and maintaining advanced visualization 3D display systems and software all over the world.

tom“I like variety and I am certainly getting plenty of that here,” explained Tom. “I have been working on our Virtual Radiotherapy system upgrades and also ensuring compatibility between laptops and Oculus Rifts. Making disparate bits of hardware work together in an integrated display system is what our team does. I am also getting involved in both factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testing with my mentors Warwick Shaw and Jim Knight. In the future, I can’t wait to be part of the team installing one of our ActiveCubes, which are complex, multi-walled VR environments.”

Tom hails from Urmston and is currently living in his family home there.
