TURKU, Finland, June 19, 2014 – China’s leading construction software company Glodon Software Company Ltd. announced their plan to strengthen their operations in Finland and Europe through their Finnish subsidiary Progman Oy. Glodon will invest in the development of Progman’s business operations in Finland, Europe and China. Progman will also become the headquarters for Glodon’s business operations in Europe. This will strengthen Progman’s R&D, sales and marketing, as well as technical support services, creating also completely new job opportunities in Finland.
Through its new European headquarters, Glodon plans to localize its products for the European markets. Furthermore, Progman as Glodon’s subsidiary will be responsible for the sales of Glodon’s products in Europe. Investments will also be made to further develop Glodon’s and Progman’s operations in European country-specific markets.
Glodon continues to search also further opportunities for technology and product development cooperation with other Finnish companies and universities. In June 2014, Glodon signed a Memorandum of Understanding with VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland concerning research and development related to building information modeling (BIM). Glodon sees Progman as a headquarters for business cooperation and possible new acquisitions in Europe.
Significant Additional Investment to Finland
Glodon announced that it will further develop Progman’s R&D functions in Finland through additional investment in the company. The additional resources provided by Glodon will increase Progman’s capacity for producing, for example, market and manufacturer-specific product information models for MagiCAD customers. Progman and Glodon will together also further develop consulting business operations in Europe, including tailored software and product modelling services for MEP device and component manufacturers.
Glodon’s quantity takeoff solutions and BIM-based project management software tools are market leading products within their respective fields in China. By exploring technological synergy and compatibility between their product lines, Progman and Glodon aim to provide in the future a completely new level of added value for MagiCAD customers in Europe.
