CD-adapco’s Steve MacDonald Receives Technology Hall of Fame

CD-adapco_logoNEW YORK, NY and LONDON, UK, Mar 2, 2016 – Steve MacDonald, the iconic co-founder and former president and chief executive officer of CD-adapco, a global provider of multidisciplinary engineering simulation and design exploration software, has been elected to the Long Island Technology Hall of Fame for his significant contributions to the region’s technology community. The induction ceremony will take place today at the Garden City Hotel in New York.

MacDonald highlights the three-person 2016 class of inductees into the Long Island Technology Hall of Fame and joins the likes of such leaders from revered companies as Northrop Grumman, Computer Associates (now CA Technologies), DealerTrack and Henry Schein.

The induction comes on the eve of STAR Global Conference 2016, to be held March 7-9 in Prague. The event annually brings together the biggest names in engineering as CD-adapco unveils its latest technology breakthroughs. This year’s event, which is expected to draw in excess of 500 visitors, will open with a tribute to MacDonald honoring his vast engineering achievements.

MacDonald’s innovative spirit and determination drove the commercial success of the business. Under his leadership, CD-adapco has grown from three engineers in a Long Island attic to 40 offices around the world with 950 employees. CD-adapco software is currently used by over 3,200 companies worldwide, including 14 of the 15 largest carmakers, by all of the top 10 suppliers to the aerospace industry and by 9 of the 10 largest manufacturers in the energy and marine sectors.

After 35 years of leadership at CD-adapco, Steve MacDonald passed away on September 2, 2015. Sharron L. MacDonald succeeded Steve MacDonald as the CEO & Interim President of CD-adapco Worldwide.
