Kingston Launches IronKey D500S USB Flash Drive

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA, Sep 13, 2023 – Kingston Digital, Inc., the Flash memory affiliate of Kingston Technology Company, Inc., a world leader in memory products and technology solutions, launched the Best-in-Class Kingston IronKey D500S, hardware-encrypted USB flash drive providing military-grade security for classified data in transit.

D500S is FIPS 140-3 Level 3 (Pending) certified with new enhancements from NIST requiring secure microprocessor upgrades for stronger security and attack protections for government and military use. The drive self-tests upon bootup and includes thermal and voltage protection to automatically shut down when certain threshold is reached. Waterproof1, dustproof1, shock and vibration resistant to Military Standards2, crush-resistant and epoxy-filled, D500S’ rugged zinc casing protects internal components from penetration attacks.

Both Admin and User can set a session-based Read-Only mode to protect the drive from malware on untrusted systems, while Admin can also set a Global Read-Only mode until reset. To keep data from getting into the wrong hands, Admin can enter a Crypto-Erase password that will destroy the data and reset the drive to prevent unauthorized access in compromising situations.

D500S includes great features found in the Kingston IronKey lineup like XTS-AES 256-bit encryption, protection from BadUSB and Brute Force attacks with digitally signed firmware, Virtual Keyboard4 for keylogger and screenlogger protection, and D500S also boasts the industry’s first dual-partition option. Admin can create two custom-sized secure partitions for Admin and User, allowing for a Hidden File Store that can be used to provision files to the User partition as needed. When using untrusted systems or sharing the drive, the Hidden File Stores keep data secure and invisible unless properly accessed.

Adds Autonomous Indoor Scanning

Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, announced a new capability for the Leica BLK2FLY: the ability to scan indoors, providing expanded coverage for complex scanning projects. The BLK2FLY now unlocks a new level of autonomy to build digital twins of entire structures, inside and outside.

3D reality capture of building exteriors and interiors is necessary to create complete digital twins. The BLK2FLY’s new indoor scanning capability expands users’ abilities to do this. Hexagon enhanced the autonomous UAV scanning system to allow for safe, effective indoor navigation and capturing. This capability also expands the BLK2FLY’s ability to capture various environments outdoors.

The BLK2FLY can scan in areas without GNSS availability, opening reality capture opportunities in new settings and with new applications, including hazardous indoor areas like nuclear power plants. Boosting Framerates and Visual Fidelity

AMD also announced availability of the next-generation AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) temporal upscaling technology, AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3. AMD FSR 3 features frame generation leveraging AMD Fluid Motion Frames technology9 and game motion vector data to dramatically improve FPS. AMD FSR 3 is designed to provide massive performance boosts with incredible image quality in supported games across a wide range of products and platforms, including competitor products and game consoles.

Expected to be available September 6, 2023, this new release features AMD HYPR-RX technology10, which simplifies and manages simultaneous interoperation of AMD Radeon Super Resolution (RSR), AMD Radeon Anti-Lag and AMD Radeon Boost technologies to achieve a performance-stacking effect.
