081815_TEDCFThe purpose of Sheet Metal Design is to teach effective ways of working with sheet metal parts. It covers all the sheet metal commands, and critical modeling processes that apply to standard parts and assemblies as well as sheet metal parts. So users can confidently transition from designing models and assemblies to constructing sheet metal parts.

Users learn how to successfully fold and unfold parts, create custom punches, K-Factors, and Bend Tables. The functionality of the Frame Generator, the Weldment environment, and multi-body design methods are also shown in detail.

Sheet Metal Design comes with model and Excel files used in the course. An example is TEDCF Publishing’s K-Factor Calculator, which has been enhanced. Now when a user makes a K-Factor calculation, they also calculate the bend allowance, bend deduction, and the outside setback. From Inventor Connections, “If you really want an accelerated path to learning, I highly suggest TEDCF,” said Dewayne Harrington, R&D design specialist, Wheelabrator. “David Melvin’s tutorials are awesome. They are very informative and to the point. For under $200 you can get a set of 4 CDs that cover virtually every aspect of Inventor. I don’t care what training classes you might attend, you will not receive this much information. You get 10 times the learning at about 1/10 the price for training classes.” Read more what Dewayne has to say at http://www.inventorconnections.com/qna_answer.php?t=346&q=3942&a=2637.
