Highlights of this release include:

Export to CAE Tools

MaterialCenter 2016 now allows for easier and more intuitive integration with CAE software tools by allowing users to export material data directly into solvers like MSC Nastran, Marc, Abaqus, and ANSYS. By giving users additional control over range and interpolation of properties, this feature enables extraction of the most relevant information from large material data sets, thus improving simulation accuracy.

MaterialCenter Explorer

Structural analysts and engineers can now take advantage of the MaterialCenter plug-in to easily search for and retrieve CAE model data for their analyses, due to new plug-ins for Abaqus/CAE and ANSYS/Mechanical APDL software tools.

Curves from Equation

CAE engineers can dynamically generate curve points using existing attributes in a material, or user defined variables/inputs, gaining improved understanding of the material behavior and parametric dependencies. Traceability of the Curve Equation and the Curve Equation Mapping is maintained, which helps organizations with auditing and maintenance of consistency.

Export to Excel

The Export to Excel capability is enhanced with a standard template for Properties and Materials. Being compatible with all material schemas in the system, this new capability removes the need for Excel mappings and keeps the process simple for the users.

More Intuitive User Interface

MaterialCenter 2016 brings an improved interface, giving engineers a better understanding of differences between multiple materials. Curves that share a common X-axes, but different Y-axes can also be plotted in the same graph, allowing users to easily visualize variation of multiple properties.

Detailed Curve Viewer

Curve Viewer helps material engineers and CAE engineers to interactively apply interpolation function and formulaic conversions in displayed curve data, thus helping them gain better insight into the material response.

Flexible Access with MSC One

The 2016 release of MaterialCenter includes support for the newly introduced MSC One token-based licensing. The enhancements in license handling for both MSC One and legacy licensing improves access to MaterialCenter and other solutions delivered by MSC Software in a cost-effective manner.

Several additional enhancements have been implemented to improve performance, security, and ease of use.
