MakerBot Ships PrintShop v1.0.5

Includes new Vase Maker tool, available from iTunes App Store

MakerBot PrintShop allows anyone with an iPad and a MakerBot Replicator 3D Printer to unleash their inner 3D designer with just a few taps of a finger. MakerBot PrintShop is a fun, easy and free way to create and 3D print all kinds of cool things. The first tools available in the app were Type Maker, Ring Maker and Bracelet Maker. Now, MakerBot adds a fourth tool to the app: Vase Maker.

The tool’s easy-to-use iPad interface enables users to create custom and personalized designs in an instant, with only the swipe of a finger and the selection of intuitive tools. The MakerBot PrintShop Vase Maker can be used to create custom potted plant holders, vases, chalices, desk accessories, bowls and containers with more than four different base patterns and thousands of possible combinations.

The MakerBot PrintShop Vase Maker tool is optimized for use with MakerBot Replicator 3D Printers. A MakerBot Replicator Desktop 3D Printer can create vases that are up to 5.5 inches tall; a MakerBot Replicator Z18 3D Printer can print designs up to 17.5 inches tall. The app also works with the MakerBot Replicator Mini Compact 3D Printer and automatically sizes 3D prints based on the printer selected.
