XYZprinting Ships da Vinci 1.0 AiO All-In-One 3D Printers

XYZprinting_logoSHANGHAI, China, Dec 12, 2014 – XYZprinting, the world’s leading 3D printing designer and manufacturer, recently launched in mainland China market the world’s first all-in-one personal 3D printer – da Vinci 1.0 AiO at the press conference themed as “Colorful Printing, Creative Life” in Shanghai. This is an affordable desktop 3D printer which integrates scanning and printing capabilities.

Simon Shen, chairman of XYZprinting, attended the launch event and unveiled the new product. He said, “XYZprinting is always dedicating to the development and manufacturing of 3D printers090514_XYZprinting that set industry standards. We leverage our exquisite techniques to ensure outstanding 3D printing experience and result. More than anything, our products with extraordinary cost performance make them affordable to ordinary consumers. In this way we enable 3D printing technology and applications to influence and penetrate into people’s life, alter their lifestyle and ultimately make them enjoy the pleasure brought about by technology.”

According to Wohlers Associates report 2014, the global gross value of 3D printing output– including printers, consumables, services, systems upgrade and software sales – is expected to reach $21 billion in 2020. McKinsey Global Institute also forecasted that 3D printing could generate economic impact of $230 billion to $550 billion per year by 2025 in terms of market scale. The largest source would be from consumer uses, followed by direct manufacturing and the use of 3D printing for tools and molds. In addition, according to Gartner, the global shipment of 3D printers is estimated to achieve 10,818 units in 2014. With the remarkable growth of 3D printer market, the global shipment is projected to reach 217,350 units in 2015 and 2,300,000 units in 2018.

XYZprinting is focused on seizing the opportunity and will utilize the experience garnered over 15 years by its parent New Kinpo Group in traditional printers. The company has tapped into New Kinpo Group’s advanced manufacturing technologies and considerable mechanical-electrical integration capability by launching its proprietary brand XYZprinting in the 3D printing market with a series of da Vinci 3D printers.

The da Vinci 1.0 AiO 3D printer is the world’s first mass-produced affordable desktop 3D scanner and printer. Users could easily achieve 3D scanning, editing and printing on just one printer. The proprietary scanning assembly underneath the printing platform enables 360-degree scan and rapid acquisition of the scanned object’s 3D drawing. A patented visual image adjustment software can then automatically correct the scanning document and enable easy correction of the surface’s smoothness before printing is carried out. In this manner the user does not need to compile the object’s 3D drawings and can instead print at any time. In addition, so as to enhance the user’s 3D printing experience for da Vinci 1.0 AiO, the printer is equipped with active detection of consumables’ stock, thus allowing the user to monitor printing information at all times.

Features in da Vinci 1.0 AiO:

  • Equipped with 3D scanning capability (the world’s first 3D scanner-printer): Requiring no additional space, the printer is equipped with 3D scanning and printing capabilities to easily achieve scanning and transmission. By scanning the object placed on the printer’s dedicated platform, the scanned data will be transmitted to the computer.
  • Scanning from two diagonally-opposite angles: 2 sensors are installed – one at the top left-hand corner and the other at the bottom right-hand corner. Precise scanning is achieved through proprietary technology in less than 5 minutes.
  • Renewed design: Due to the color change of printers’ cases, materials with better light-shielding capability are used to enhance the precision of scanning. Given that the precision of ordinary open scanners are vulnerable to the external environment. However, with its outer case which can be closed, da Vinci 1.0 AiO is able to significantly enhance the precision with fewer scanning time.
  • XYZscan function: The da Vinci 1.0 AiO is equipped with XYZscan program which allows adjustments of scanned data and the smoothness of the object’s surface. The scanning data can also be saved in ‘stl’ format and can be edited by ‘stl’-compatible software.
  • Newly-added PLA resin wire materials: da Vinci 1.0 AiO allows the use of ABS and PLA resins. Same as the use of ABS resin, PLA resin doesn’t require any special operation. The printer will work when PLA resin is inserted into the designated entry. From mid-November, PLA resin wire materials will be available in succession in the following order: primary color, white, black, blue and red.

Simon Shen also said, “Although the United States remains as XYZprinting’s biggest market globally, excellent business prospects for 3D printing in Mainland China has meant rapid business growth for us. This is particularly so in the areas of engineering, design, education and creative works. Therefore, XYZprinting has initiated a series of strategic partnerships and communication activities in Mainland China, including collaboration with universities and colleges, the parent-child summer camp featuring 3D printing and global design competition etc. By those means, we target to popularize 3D printing technology and equipment and help spur development in education in Mainland China as well as encourage designers to seek innovation. We will strive to be a foremost 3D printer brand in 2015.”

da Vinci 1.0 AiO will be available in Mainland China through both online and offline channels at RMB 8,999 per unit.
