Virtek Projection Data Creator Introduced

gI_85900_PDC1According to Virtek senior product manager Sean Francoz, Virtek PDC simplifies projection file creation. “Virtek PDC supports a broad number of formats and quickly generates projection files in a virtual 3D environment,” he said. Virtek PDC supports CAD files in IGES, STEP, CATIA V4/5/6, Siemens NX, Solidworks, DXF, CREO, Parasolid and Autodesk Inventor file formats. “In addition, Virtek PDC supports all of the features of Virtek LaserEdge and the Iris Spatial Positioning System, particularly in the creation of datum and verification points,” he said.

Virtek PDC, which replaces the Virtek Planner software, supports documentation such as queries, labels or graphics, which can contribute to a paperless assembly process. It also troubleshoots manufacturing project issues very quickly – in minutes rather than hours.

“With laser templating and PDC, companies can dramatically reduce the cost and, more importantly, the time to deploy product design changes,” Francoz said. “Virtek PDC provides the vision to see the manufacturing process at the planning stage, and helps to streamline the overall process.”
