Vero Releases SMIRT 2018 R1

Vero Software has released SMIRT 2018 R1for the die-mold industry.

Improvements to SMIRT DieBuild

SMIRT DieBuild 2018 R1 contains several enhancements requested by our users, including the ability to change all operation axes in a process simultaneously, a new function to show all non-connected processes, and a new easy-to-access Update Operation button in the operation view. These incremental improvements will decrease the time necessary for users to create the DieBuild plan and advance to the next stage of manufacturing more quickly.

Improvements to SMIRT DieNC

SMIRT DieNC 2018 R1 now contains a new option for 3D Profile paths to eliminate sharp direction changes in situations where the cutting tool radius is larger than the radius of the profile being machined. This condition often leads to vibration and/or poor finish quality.

Other improvements to DieNC include enhanced support for machines with rotating/tilting tables, as well as settings for automatically removing co-linear points from mill paths.

An add-on module to SMIRT DieShop, SMIRT DieNC is designed to create toolpath for planar faces, profiles, and drilling holes. “Drag & drop” technology is used to create toolpath directly upon solid geometry with no manual entry of coordinate values.

SMIRT Licensing

SMIRT 2018 R1 now utilizes Vero Software’s CLS Licensing system.  While similar to the Vero License Manager used in past versions of SMIRT, the CLS system offers features and functionality that ease the license retrieval and installation process through the Vero Customer Portal.  Vero License Manager licensesare no longer supported in SMIRT 2018 R1 and future versions.
