MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA, Sep 27, 2017 – FogHorn Systems, a leading developer of edge analytics and machine learning (ML) software for industrial and commercial internet of things (IoT) applications, announced today that it has entered into a partnership agreement with UNIADEX Co., Ltd to provide “fog computing” solutions for IIoT. Tokyo-based UNIADEX, which provides system integration services including IoT solutions, also launched its own “IoT eco-System Lab” in 2016.
UNIADEX will provide fog computing integration services using FogHorn’s Lightning software platform to customers who are considering leveraging IoT in the manufacturing, logistics and social infrastructure business. Fog computing is a technology designed to dramatically reduce latency and bandwidth usage by processing massive amounts of machine and sensor data close to its source in the field and sending only essential data to the cloud for centralized processing.

UNIADEX will also implement FogHorn software platform with edge devices and IoT gateways at their own facilities and other various IIoT service, in order to expand the applicable industry of FogHorn IIoT solution. “We look forward to working closely with FogHorn as our partner for implementing leading edge fog computing-based IIoT solutions for our customers,” said UNIADEX general manager of IoT business development, Tetsuya Yamahira. “Because FogHorn software platform works with many heterogeneous systems and IoT cloud platforms, it will reduce the complexity of our integrations and enable us to implement many new and different IIoT applications in a timely manner.”

FogHorn will also be participating in a speaking’ panel at the UNIADEX IoT Edge Conference in Tokyo on October 24, 2017.
