UDIN Enters into Agreement with SENER Korea for FORAN License

sener_logoMADRID, Spain, Oct 10, 2014 – Unique Design and Intellectual Networks Engineering Co., Ltd. (UDIN), located in Busan, has reached an agreement with Korea SENER Engineering and Systems Co., Ltd. (SKES) for permanent use of FORAN license and associated technical assistance services.

The agreement completes a process that began in July 2013 with the implementation of the FORAN System with a model of temporary licenses in two real projects conducted in UDIN: a series of medium-sized tankers (as illustrated in the image) constructed by Samsung Heavy Industries at its factory in Ningbo (China) for the Greek owner Evangelos Marinakis, and 1,200 passenger ferry built by POSCO Plantec in Busan, for the government of Zanzibar.

Currently about 200 designers are working at full capacity with FORAN, finishing these projects and start new ones, and another set of medium size tankers for the Chinese manufacturer Honghua and several offshore units for the shipyard IHI Aichi in Japan.

UDIN has also created a high-level group of developing CAD in order to customize the FORAN System, in particular to adapt the outputs generated according to the standards and requirements of the yards they work.

After signing the agreement, June 10, 2014, Jong-Ho Kim, President of UDIN said “It is our intention to use in all our projects FORAN shipbuilding and offshore from now, since we can optimize our efficiency in basic and detail design and production. ”

Additionally, this Korean company has partnered separately with SENER Ingeniería y Sistemas SA, to work together in the field of ship design and engineering.
