TraceParts 3D Design Library Announces Growth in 2017

ST. ROMAIN, France, Jan 30, 2018 – TraceParts is pleased to announce that it closed out 2017 having achieved its highest performance ever since the launch of its CAD-content platform in 2001, with all audience metrics reflecting significant growth over previous years.

The platform’s cumulative statistics for 2017 were:

  • 4.3 million unique visitors
  • 77 million page views
  • 3.1 million registered users
  • 77 million CAD files delivered

We were delighted to see the landmark growth we achieved in 2017, explained Gabriel Guigue, TraceParts Managing Director. We’ve worked diligently to make our platform one of the leading global resource for design professionals seeking parts for their OEM products and machines. At the same time, TraceParts provides suppliers with the opportunity to promote their products worldwide. The numbers we achieved in 2017 represent compelling proof that we are succeeding in our efforts.

Contributing to the growth in 2017 was the launch of TraceParts’ new website, which features a streamlined design in the popular style of other major e-commerce sites and is accessible using every kind of device, including tablets and smartphones.

Other significant improvements that benefit users include a high-performance search engine that provides fast, accurate results. Additionally, a multi-criteria filtering system allows designers to fine-tune their CAD-model search according to classification, suppliers, Standards organizations, standards, dimensions and other variables. Once designers find a component they want, they’re now able to download its CAD model right from the search-results page without consulting its product page, a significant time-saver.

In 2017 many part vendors reported significant sales increases since they began promoting their components on the TraceParts platform.

Last year we gained a significant number of new customers, most of whom discovered us on TraceParts, said Mike Bray, DesignSpark Vice-President at RS Components. We expect those customers to make additional purchases in 2018 from our e-commerce website www.rs-online.com. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results we’re getting on TraceParts!

According to Gabriel Guigue, “We intend to continue refining our platform, adding new technologies as they’re developed to deliver the best user experience and generate the maximum number of leads and sales for our suppliers. We have ambitious plans for 2018 that include the rollout of a proprietary 3D Self-Publishing tool that will allow manufacturers to create 3D catalogs and generate 3D files in a wide variety of CAD formats for designers and engineers. The future is bright.”
