Thinkbox Previews Sequoia, Deadline 7 at AU

Thinkbox_logoLOS ANGELES, CA (Autodesk University), Dec 2, 2014 – Thinkbox Software will showcase Sequoia and Deadline 7 in booth #282 at this year’s Autodesk University conference held December 2-4, 2014 in Las Vegas, NV.

120214_sm_Deadline7_AUA powerful new standalone tool for converting point cloud data to geometry, Sequoia creates a surface mesh from laser scan point data files or particle files. Once a 3D mesh has been generated, triangle count can be reduced through smoothing and decimation, and meshes can also be colored as well as textured through image projections for enhanced data visualization. With Sequoia, results can be returned before all the data is loaded, allowing architects, engineers and 3D artists to work faster and without software wait times.

Long a favorite compute management solution of visual effects houses, Deadline 7 has been optimized for applications in architecture, engineering and construction to maximize workstation resources, automating otherwise time consuming processes for the AEC industries. Whether rendering, translating CAD files translation via importing or exporting, or simply sending files to printing and plotting devices, Deadline taps existing local hardware to assist in distributed/off-loaded processing. Users can run multiple scenarios as a batch run, submitting jobs automatically and scheduling tasks to work in parallel on idle compute resources across local networks, on the cloud or any hybrid of the two. Deadline also supports dependencies – allowing certain tasks to be dependent on other tasks – and includes the Draft image compositing and encoding tool, which automates image format conversion as well as the creation of animated videos and QuickTimes, contact sheets, and watermark elements on exported images. Additionally, plans to support simulation and merging non-native CAD files will allow users to leverage complete control of Autodesk AutoCAD.

“Thinkbox tools are already well-loved among Autodesk artists and we’re excited to bring that core technology to the AEC industries. With Sequoia, we’ve created a new application framework that allows for progressive workflows enabling users to work faster and with data sets that exceed actual memory. Deadline adds enhanced cloud functionality and deeper integration with AutoCAD, EnergyPlus, other AEC construction and building analysis applications and 3ds Max for more elastic compute resources,” said Chris Bond, founder, Thinkbox Software.

In addition to demonstrating its software, Thinkbox is participating in the ‘Meet the Reality Computing Innovators’ event on Wednesday, December 3 at 6:30PM in RC7373, which will feature the people behind some of the most advanced startups and businesses in the reality computing arena.

Compatible across OSX, Linux and Windows platforms, the Sequoia beta is expected to launch in early 2015 and Deadline 7 to release imminently. For more information on Thinkbox Software solutions, please call 1-866-419-0283 or visit www.thinkboxsoftware.com/sales.
