TSNE is a specialized engineering company, headquartered in Seoul, Korea, and set up in 1988, with a focus on distributing ANSYS and other CAE software, along with technical support, training services and consultancy. The company’s expertise in this area will be relevant to supporting Granta software, which is frequently used alongside simulation software to provide the materials data that is an essential input for CAE.

Granta is the leading global provider of materials information management software to engineering enterprises, working with leading enterprises in sectors including Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics, and General Manufacturing. For example, in the Automotive sector, Granta works with General Motors, PSA Peugeot Citroën, and Jaguar Land Rover in the Automotive Material Intelligence Consortium (‘AutoMatIC’), an industry collaboration focused on developing best practice for materials information for automotive applications. This helps to drive development of the GRANTA MI materials information management system, which enables enterprises to increase engineering productivity, lower costs, and make the most of investments in simulation. The GRANTA MI:Materials Gateway software enables engineers and design teams to directly access and use validated CAE materials models from within CAE environments, including ANSYS Workbench.

Mickey Chiyong Kim, president and CEO of TSNE, said: “I am so pleased to announce the signing of a business relationship with Granta Design. Since 1988, TSNE has been working in CAE industries and we find that getting reliable material properties is the barrier to getting meaningful CAE results. Granta and TSNE will collaborate to remove such barriers. Combining the world-leading materials information technology of Granta and the leading CAE expert group of TSNE, I’m very confident we can be the ideal material property provider for Korean industry.”

Richard Painter, vice president, business development at Granta Design, said: “We are very happy to be working with TSNE to provide an even better service to customers in Korea. With extensive experience of supporting engineering software, and established relationships with leading engineering enterprises in Korea, TSNE is ideally placed to help more businesses take advantage of materials information technology. We look forward to attending the TSNE Annual User Group Meeting in July to meet some of the enterprises that could benefit from our new agreement.”

About Granta Design

Founded in 1994 as a spin-out from the University of Cambridge, Granta helps hundreds of engineering enterprises to manage information on the materials (metals, plastics, composites, and more) that are essential to their businesses. They help them to develop and apply material intelligence, making better materials decisions, saving time and money, and reducing risk as they optimize their products. THey also provide supporting resources to thousands of university educators worldwide as they teach the next generation of engineers, scientists, and industrial designers about materials, processes, and sustainability.
