VANCOUVER, Canada, June 16, 2014 – Softree Technical Systems Inc. of Vancouver BC has recently announced their acceptance into the Autodesk Developer Network. According to Softree principal, Dave Mills, P.Eng, the company plans to make Softree Optimal , their new vertical alignment optimization technology, directly available to Civil 3D users.In addition to Softree Optimal, compatibility improvements between the company’s other civil products are expected.
Mr. Mills also commented that future versions of Softree Optimal will likely include interfaces to all major civil design packages.
Developed in collaboration with the University of British Columbia, Softree Optimal minimizes earthwork quantities subject to design constraints and conditions. Unlike previous attempts at alignment optimization, this new technology produces a true optimal solution (not heuristic) and will accommodate detailed design conditions. These features allow it to be applied at any stage of the design process.
