SME Education Adds J Miller, M Marlowe to Board of Directors

smelogoDEARBORN, MI, Feb 26, 2015 – The SME Education Foundation announced the election of two new members to its Board of Directors. The new members bring a vast amount of knowledge and a devoted passion for educating younger generations about manufacturing and the many careers opportunities that exist within the industry. Joining the Board are John Miller and Michael Marlowe.

“I am excited to welcome our newest members to the SME Education Foundation Board of Directors,” said Brian Ruestow, president of the SME Education Foundation. “Both John and Mike bring years of industry experience to the table and will help generate increased awareness, dedicated funding and educational development of the next-generation manufacturing workforce.”

Miller is vice president of strategy for Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of the Siemens Industry Automation Division. In this role, he is responsible for establishing Siemens PLM Software’s strategic framework globally, business planning, market intelligence, partner ecosystem, pricing and packaging.

Marlowe is the managing director/director of government relations for the Automation Federation. Through the Automation Federation, Marlowe promotes awareness, programs and services that continually advance the automation profession to the industry and the workforce of tomorrow.

Marlowe and Miller bring their professional experiences to the Board to further the mission of the SME Education Foundation, to prepare youth for advanced manufacturing careers through outreach programs encouraging students to study science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), with a particular focus on technology and engineering.
