SIMSOLID Power Edition Released

SIMSOLID_logoMISSISSAUGA, Canada, Feb 26, 2016 – SIMSOLID Corp. announced SIMSOLID Power edition, a new product package that extends SIMSOLID in model size and computer core utilization as well as providing a new non-linear analysis type. In addition, SIMSOLID Standard edition has been enhanced to support more boundary condition definitions.

New SIMSOLID Standard edition features

  • New hinge constraint boundary condition. This may be applied to full or partial cylindrical faces that can be either concave or convex. The hinge constraint will allow free rotation about the center line of the cylindrical faces but constrain movement in both the radial and axial directions.
  • New bearing load boundary condition. This may be applied to full or partial cylindrical faces that can be either concave or convex. The bearing load acts as a pressure, whose magnitude is spread using a sinusoidal distribution. Controls are provided for easy specification of direction and load span angle.

Additional SIMSOLID Power edition features

  • No limit on number of parts. SIMSOLID Standard is limited to 150.
  • No limit on number of computational threads. SIMSOLID Standard is limited to 8.
  • New geometric nonlinear analysis option – provides the ability to do a large deformation, small strain analysis.
  • New follower loads – all loads now have optional setting to change (follow) the deformed direction of the model.
  • New “Copy to non-linear analysis” item. Available directly from the project tree, this allows a user to quickly copy all static analysis settings (contact conditions, loads and constraints) into a new nonlinear analysis workbench.

SIMSOLID continues to set the standard for rapid simulation-driven design. It’s innovative core technology eliminates geometry simplification and meshing, the two most time consuming and expertise extensive tasks done in traditional FEA.
