Sergey Polishchuk to Keynote at 2018 CMSC

The Coordinate Metrology Society (CMS) announced Sergey Polishchuk, an animation and visual effects professional, will give the keynote address at the 2018 Coordinate Metrology Society Conference (CMSC) from July 23 – 27, 2018 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, NV. Polishchuk will kick off the conference at 8:45AM on Tuesday, July 24. He currently works as computer graphics artist at FuseFX NYC, one of three locations with over 30 television shows in production, as well as various commercial and feature film projects in progress. He utilizes various metrology techniques on location — photogrammetry, structured light scanning and other data acquisition techniques — to support the FuseFX post production team in creating photorealistic and physically accurate visual effects. To optimize workflow and manage multiple projects concurrently, Sergey has developed a non-traditional method to keep pace with regimented production schedules. He uses custom scripted tools and pipeline improvements to consistently deliver assets across multiple offices. FuseFX has exclusively provided visual effects for all the major studios and television productions like American Horror Story, Criminal Minds, Sons of Anarchy, Bones, and many others. To learn more about the 2018 CMSC Program and register for this annual event, visit www.CMSC.org.

The CMSC plenary and track sessions offer more than 25 original technical papers from distinguished speakers and leading metrology practitioners from around the world. A new addition to the conference this year is the Spotlight on New Technology program in the Education Zone. This new format features 30-minute segments presented by metrology original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and software providers. Participating companies will launch and/or showcase new-to-market measurement technologies at the CMSC starting Tuesday, July 23 at 12:30PM through Thursday afternoon, July 25.

Also in the Education Zone, there will be several presentations from standards organizations and industry experts covering ASME Y14.5 guidelines, laser tracker standards, B89 Calibration methods, as well as an informative session on how to conduct outreach for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) initiatives in local high schools.

The annual CMSC attracts metrology practitioners, quality control managers, manufacturing executives, scientists, students, and educators. The Coordinate Metrology Society supports measurement professionals through education, certification, and connects conference delegates to leading OEMs, software developers and service providers. For the first time, the organization cordially invites the coordinate measurement machine (CMM) industry at large to attend the CMSC and join its membership society. The five-day event is a unique venue for both master and novice users seeking an educational, dynamic atmosphere for career development.

Attendees experience the pulse of the conference in the CMSC Exhibition Hall, home of the popular Measurement and Education Zones and more than 45 exhibitors showcasing the most current 3D measurement and inspection solutions utilized in manufacturing, research and development, and various scientific fields. The week’s agenda rounds out with certification examinations, workshops, training courses, networking events, an optional local Friday tour, and post-conference access to all technical papers and presentation materials.
