ANDOVER, MA and MUNICH, Germany, Mar 1, 2016 – Aras, the next leader in enterprise product lifecycle management (PLM) software, today announced that Saab, a global producer of world-leading products, services and solutions from military defense to civil security, selected Aras Innovator to support the handling of complex product data and business processes related to the Gripen fighter aircraft. Aras will be used to strengthen the information management capabilities for the maintenance aspects of the Gripen, a unique fighter that unites operational performance, high-tech solutions, cost-efficiency and industrial partnership into one, smart fighter system.
After reviewing the major PLM solutions on the market, the Saab team selected Aras because of the platform flexibility, upgradability and strong capability to integrate with other applications in their existing PLM environment. The open architecture of Aras with an open data model, open interfaces and use of open Web standards was important in order to simplify integrations to existing systems in place at Saab.
