prostep_logoDARMSTADT, Germany, Oct 5, 2015 – PROSTEP AG, one of the leading consulting and software companies in the field of product lifecycle management (PLM) wants to enhance its presence in its PLM markets and address new business areas with innovative solutions for data, system and process integration. In light of this fact, the company has expanded its executive board and redistributed responsibilities. Dr. Martin Holland, up until now head of sales, is taking over the newly created position of head of strategic development, innovation and business development. His successor as head of sales will be Dr. Karsten Theis, who has up until now been responsible for the business unit PLM strategy & processes. Theis will thus be joining the Executive Board.

With these strategic new appointments, PROSTEP is responding to the increasingly rapid changes in the PLM market brought about by the Internet of Things (IoT), the interdisciplinary development of cyber-physical systems and the increasing amalgamation of virtual product development and digital manufacturing. “These changes are also having an impact on our business model, but at the same time they are opening up new opportunities for growth in other areas,” says Dr. Bernd Pätzold, CEO of PROSTEP AG. “Identifying these opportunities and implementing them in new solutions are among the tasks performed by the new head of business strategy, innovation and business development. In Martin Holland, we have appointed an experienced employee who has over the years been a driving force within the company to this position.”

Holland adds: “I’m looking forward to my new responsibilities and I’m sure that, with the experience I’ve gained from numerous projects and my many years in Sales, I will be able to help drive the strategic development of our company forward.”
