Launches MagiCAD Supports & Hangers for Revit

progman_logo_red_RGB_mediumTURKU, Finland, June 3, 2016 – Progman Oy has released a new version of the MEP design software MagiCAD for Revit and AutoCAD. The new release introduces IFC 2×3 CV 2.0 Certified MEP Export with MagiCAD for AutoCAD, support for native Revit RFA files in projects with MagiCAD for Revit, dynamic new product selection and installation functions, and support for Revit 2017-2016 and AutoCAD 2017-2013.

MagiCAD-for-Revit_MEP-with-Supports-&-Hangers_webProgman also launches a new software product for Revit technology, MagiCAD Supports & Hangers for Revit, which enables easy and efficient design of suspension systems for ducts, pipes and cable trays using generic or manufacturer-specific support and hanger components (featured manufacturers including Hilti and SIMFIX). Both MagiCAD for Revit and MagiCAD for AutoCAD offer support for the upcoming IFC 4, complying with the Norwegian project delivery requirements NS 8360 coming into force in July 2016.

MagiCAD 2016.4 for AutoCAD has IFC 2×3 CV 2.0 MEP Export Certification for all MEP disciplines, and offers many clever and time-saving new design features which boost productivity. Legend tables can now be automatically generated based on objects in projects and inserted directly into drawings. Customizable reports, quantity take-offs and bills of materials for HVAC and piping design can now be generated automatically while the user can select which parameters and variables are included in the report. There are also more report output formats available than before.Calculation reports now contain more data and offer improved layout and printout options. In electrical design, the user can verify cable type against load current, calculate cable weight and cross-sectional area, and draw cables with more flexibility and ease of use. MagiCAD Room now enables find & replace also with structural objects.

MagiCAD 2016.4 for Revit MEP now enables the use of native RFA families in the MagiCAD dataset while making use of MagiCAD’s standard functionality. Also, MagiCAD’s highly popular crossing tool for creating duct, pipe and cable tray crossings now enables multiple crossings to be drawn simultaneously. The new version also offers a new dynamic tool for searching products, examining the fit of the selected product in the installation location, installing the product, or switching it if necessary. MagiCAD for Revit also continues expanding its support for regional regulations by introducing multiple new standards for domestic water calculations, including the British BS 6700 and other European standards. Other improvements include automatic use of 2D symbols with more product classes when printing drawings based on 3D models, support for maintenance and clearance zones for air handling units and switchboards, and a brand new project delivery tool for auditing, compressing, purging and deleting revisions and for cleaning up links, sheets, views, manufacturer-specific brand names, etc. from projects. The new MagiCAD enables national codes to be defined for ducts, pipes and fittings and exported in IFC format. Also, circuit numbering format can be adjusted to conform, e.g. with the UK convention for circuit codes. Improvements to sprinkler design include fire cabinets with accurately placed connection points in 3D, drawing sprinkler heads automatically to pipe ends, and support for new standard UNI EN 10779.
