GRAITEC Advance 2010 Ships for Concrete, Steel Structures
PARIS,
France, Sep 16, 2009 - GRAITEC, an international software developer for CAD
and structural analysis solutions for civil engineering, launches GRAITEC
Advance 2010, the complete software solution for reinforced concrete and
steel structures.
GRAITEC Advance 2010: a 100% BIM software solution
Version 2010 of the
GRAITEC Advance suite implements the Building Information Modeling system
(BIM). The BIM technology allows the user to simulate the behavior of the
structure and to automate the production of various documents necessary in
the construction process.

The new version provides engineers with the technology to better design
and implement their construction projects by optimizing the use of
materials, eliminating the inconsistencies between the different parts of
the project, reducing the design cycle, ensuring the traceability of
information, improving the communication efficiency among the project
partners, and so much more...
Thus, the GRAITEC Advance suite allows users to significantly increase
their productivity (by eliminating double entries and with automatic
updates) and to reduce errors with its numerous control tools.
Moreover, the following features improve the collaborative work process :
- 2D/3D data of Architects/Design offices are reusable (the entire GRAITEC
Advance suite is compatible with the Autodesk modeling tools: Autodesk Revit
Architecture 2010 and Autodesk Revit Structure 2010). Advance Concrete and
Advance Steel are compatible with AutoCAD 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010;
- Compatibility with the industry standards (IFC, CIS/2, PSS, SDNF, etc.);
- The possibility for several users to simultaneously and securely work
together on the same model.
Francis GUILLEMARD, CEO of GRAITEC, comments: "In addition to the new
specific functionalities that improve our users' daily efficiency and
productivity, the 2010 versions of the GRAITEC Advance suite offer a BIM
system that allows an improved collaboration between software applications.
This strategic trend contributes to the development of technologies for
numerical simulation that aim to optimize the process and the use of
materials, and, thus, to provide a long lasting development."
Advance Design 2010

Advance Design was specifically developed for structural analysis using a
powerful FEM analysis engine. It includes various tools for the design of
reinforced concrete and steel structures, integrating the latest European
design standards (Eurocodes 1, 2 and 3).
The 2010 version includes the latest Eurocodes developments:
- A load
combinations manager (EC0)
- A 3D climatic generator (EC1) that takes into account the wind effects on
lattice structures (§ 7.11), on awnings (§ 7.2.1) and on outdoor panels (§
7.4.3),, and that also takes into consideration snow accumulation
- Seismic analysis (EC8)
- Many other improvements for Concrete (EC2) and Steel (EC3)

With the partnership with ArcelorMITTAL, GRAITEC also ensures the
optimization of castellated beams according to EC3. Advance Design 2010 is
also compatible with the British standard BS 8110 for Concrete design.
Numerous new functionalities are also available: defining calculation
points for temporal analysis, management of beam boundary conditions,
selection by systems, post-processing of eigenvectors on selections, new
diagram types for graphic results, etc.
Joseph PAIS, Advance Design Product Manager comments: "With the
implementation of the latest Eurocodes developments, the 2010 version is an
Industry leading European version of Advance Design that integrates the
national standards from the main E.U. countries, making Advance Design the
number 1 choice for Structural Engineers."
Advance Concrete 2010

Advance Concrete automates the creation of construction drawings,
reinforcement drawings, BOM and NC files.
In addition to being compatible with AutoCAD 2010, Advance Concrete 2010
has major performance improvements: the calculation time for elevations,
sections and isometric views was reduced by a factor of 4 to 6. Another
major optimization is the new ergonomics of the Dynamic Reinforcement, a
unique system which allows for the easy placement of the reinforcement cage
in the model.
Many other improvements are also available:
- Compatibility with the AutoCAD stretch command for the modification of
the reinforcement of an element,
- New options for frame distribution in
beams,
- New symbols and labels,
- A better management of the bar marks
behavior,
- New options to reduce the number of bar marks in the project,
- An
improved bar bending detail representation, etc.
Herve DELFOSSE, Advance Concrete Marketing Product Manager comments: "The
new 2010 version represents an important step in the software. Its new
features allow users to improve the efficiency of the reinforcement design
process and to reduce costs."
Advance Steel 2010

Advance Steel automates the entire structural CAD process (fabrication,
erection drawings, various reports, BOM's etc) and creates NC fabrication
data.
In addition to being compatible with AutoCAD 2010, Advance Steel 2010
significantly increases the productivity for fabrication drawing creation.
The time for generating drawings has been reduced by a factor of 2 to 3.
To facilitate the learning process, Advance Steel ergonomics were
improved: a new user interface provides improved selection and creation of
connections, new options to isolate elements in the model and to work only
in 2D, better use of the realistic rendering that allows a better
understanding and manipulation of the model, a new Advance Steel Ribbon
interface, etc.
Many other improvements are also available:
- New features for automatic
creation of cage ladders,
- New automatic functionalities for the design of
trusses,
- New options for stairs and railings (slotted holes, new connection
types for handrail ends, the option to create loop returns),
- New connections
(haunch on column flange or on column web, tube connections, base plate with
sloped stiffeners and cut, new tube end-to-end connections, etc.),
- Unfolding
of curved beams and polybeams,
- A better representation for angle dimensions
and slope triangles,
- Optimized ergonomics and new options for the BOMs and
lists management.
Philippe BONNEAU, Advance Steel Marketing Product Manager comments: "The
new 2010 version of Advance Steel, significantly increases productivity and
has a new user-friendly interface developed for the optimal use of the
software".
