“We found there is a strong demand for a solution that has the ease of use of a consumer-grade 3D scanner but the output of a professional 3D scanning system–in terms of capturing high resolution 3D scans at sub-micron accuracy,” said Thomas Tong, president of Polyga. “The HDI Compact 3D scanners cover all these bases. They are plug and play systems, ready to use right out of the box within minutes of setup. Install the included proprietary 3D scanning software, FlexScan3D, to your computer and you are ready for scanning.”

The HDI Compact can be mounted on a robotic arm for automated 3D scanning.

Users even have the option to completely automate the 3D scanning workflow when used in conjunction with a rotary turntable. This makes creating complete digital 3D models from physical objects even easier.

FlexScan3D processes the scan data during the capturing stage with built-in aligning, merging, and hole filling capabilities. Transform 3D scans into a complete digital 3D model for use in 3D visualization, reverse engineering, and quality inspection applications.

New FlexScan3D Scanning Software Release

Together with the HDI Compact, Polyga is excited to release a new version of FlexScan3D software that also supports the Gocator 3000 series of 3D smart sensors from LMI Technologies. In addition to achieving 100% in-line inspection for factory automation at production speed, these snapshot sensors can now capture 3D scans to create full digital 3D models of parts for off-line analysis. Get all the comprehensive 3D measurement data you need in one system to eliminate any product defects during manufacturing.

Availability of the HDI Compact

The HDI Compact 3D scanners are available for purchase today. There are three models: 1, 2, and 5 megapixel dual camera systems for different scanning volumes. The 5 megapixel model is ideal for 3D scanning extremely small objects with an impressive accuracy of up to 12 microns (0.012 mm) per scan. The HDI Compact systems are great as standalone desktop 3D scanners, integrating into systems, or embedding into devices.
