ODA Releases Drawings SDK v2019.2

SCOTTSDALE, AZ, Jan 14, 2019 – Open Design Alliance (ODA), the leading provider of CAD interoperability and component technology, announced today the release of Drawings SDK 2019.2. Drawings is a development platform for desktop, mobile and web apps that work with .dwg and .dgn data.

“Drawings 2019.2 introduces extrude and revolve 3d solid modeling operations as part of our standard SDK,” commented Neil Peterson, ODA president. “We also offer integrations for ACIS® and C3D solid modelers, but a full-featured third-party modeler is excessive for some applications. With 2019.2, basic 3d solids creation is now available to all ODA members at no additional cost.”

Sergey Vishnevetsky, ODA development director, said, “Drawings 2019.2 also offers faster visualization of .rcs point cloud data, the standard format for point clouds in .dwg files, through our new level of detail (LOD) support.

“ODA is already the leading provider for CAD interoperability tools. We want to become the leading CAD visualization provider as well. We’ve made huge progress towards this goal in the past two years, and word is getting out that you don’t need expensive third-party solutions for CAD & BIM visualization any more—ODA provides everything you need as part of a standard membership.”

Drawings 2019.2 contains a number of additional enhancements including optimizations for PDF import, improvements to incremental saving for .dwg, faster loading of .dgn data via multi-threading, as well as fixes for member-reported issues.
