ODA Announces Teigha BIM for Autodesk Revit

Now available to top-tier subscribers only, but starting in January 2017 two new licensing options aimed at a larger audience

Teigha_logoPHOENIX, AZ, Sep 27, 2016 – Open Design Alliance (ODA) announced the availability of Teigha BIM, the world’s first stand-alone SDK for working with Autodesk Revit files.

Teigha BIM provides interoperability with .rfa and .rvt files for any type of application. It features a powerful object-oriented API that can read, write and render BIM data. It runs on any desktop or server platform, and is also integrated with Teigha Cloud, ODA’s Web-based visualization and editing technology.

“I am very pleased to announce the first release of Teigha BIM,” commented Neil Peterson, ODA president. “This initial release provides production read access to the full contents of version 2011+ files. Rendering support is currently in beta. Write support is in an early stage, and is improving rapidly.

“Teigha BIM is currently available to top-tier subscribers only, but starting in January 2017 we will have two new licensing options aimed at a larger audience.”

Sergey Vishnevetsky, development director at ODA, said, “The development of Teigha BIM has been greatly facilitated by leveraging our Kernel, which provides visualization, geometry, cloud and runtime services. These services greatly simplify the work of supporting a major new file format.”

Teigha BIM is developed as part of a Special Interest Group within the ODA, and is available to ODA members for an additional annual licensing fee. A free trial version can be downloaded from the ODA website.
