NextLabs Releases Enterprise Digital Rights Mgmt for JT2Go

logo_nextlabsSAN MATEO, CA, July 11, 2016 – NextLabs, a provider of data-centric security software to protect business critical data and applications announced the release of the Enterprise Digital Rights Management for JT2Go (EDRM for JT2Go). This release, which will be included as part of the JT2Go Desktop v11.2.2, offers built-in digital rights management (DRM) capabilities to allow users to consume digital rights protected 3D J data format models created by Siemens’ Teamcenter software. Customers can securely share their valuable 3D CAD models containing product and manufacturing information (PMI) and metadata (textual attributes) with their extended collaboration network without the risk of compromise.

JT is an ISO standard CAD interoperability format for exchanging design data for collaborative product development. Customers need to collaborate globally on all aspects of the product development lifecycle. JT enables collaboration, validation and visualization throughout the extended enterprise. JT2Go is a no-charge, lightweight, CAD-neutral viewer produced by Siemens’ product lifecycle management (PLM) software business for anyone up and down the supply chain to view JT files.

By extending DRM support from Teamcenter to JT2Go, NextLabs EDRM allows JT2Go and Teamcenter users to leverage the Teamcenter data security and EDRM for Teamcenter capability to share and consume 3D JT models securely with business partners.  EDRM for JT2Go provides access and usage controls for real-time global sharing of valuable JT files without the fear of wrongful disclosure or data loss. Users now have seamless access to the DRM capability from JT2Go natively.

Key features of NextLabs EDRM for JT2Go include:

  • Control access with fine-grained policy
  • Set expiration / time bomb on the file shared
  • View only permission
  • View with dynamic watermark
  • Deny printing
  • Enable collaboration with external users through federated identity and OAuth
  • Support monolithic and shattered assemblies

NextLabs is committed to provide data protection solutions that will offer the best user experience and fastest time to value through deep integration with leading CAD tools and PLM systems. The ability to apply Digital Rights protection automatically across key information sources takes the burden of securing information away from end-users; this is critical to help companies combat the constant threat of security breach and to ensure safe and secure collaboration across global workforce, external business partners, and customers.

“Digital Rights Management has been a discussion point with JT adopters and members of the JT Open Program for many years,” said Mike Zink, senior product manager, Siemens PLM Software. “NextLabs offers an excellent option for digital rights management available today. By working with NextLabs in our core products and using the extension provided in JT2Go, the JT community can realize rights management of 3D JT data throughout their extended enterprise.”

“NextLabs and Siemens PLM Software have worked hard to help Teamcenter customers drive product innovation through secure collaboration. We are extending digital rights management support from Teamcenter to JT2Go to offer an end-to-end solution to protect data and safeguard exchange of design data for collaborative product development,” said Keng Lim, CEO of NextLabs. “With the EDRM for JT2Go, Siemens PLM Software customers can now protect all critical information assets in JT, and freely share them inside and outside the extended enterprise.”
