Mech-Tool Announces Appointments, Internal Promotions

DARLINGTON, UK, Jan 23, 2018 – One of the UK’s leading product manufacturer and global supplier of fire, blast and heat hazard solutions has further strengthened its already extensive team with a series of additional appointments and internal promotions.

Mech-Tool Engineering (MTE) has appointed a group planning manager and an operations and engineering director with internal promotions also taking place. Valued team members take on the roles of director of projects and Mech Tool Korea, production manager, senior project manager and head of finance.

New appointment Steve Thomas – group planning manager – joined the team in early November with over 20 years’ experience in the planning of many offshore Oil and Gas projects. His role is to support the planning team whilst developing the departmental function to ensure that project teams, and the wider business, are fully supported in all planning matters.

David Bursnoll joins MTE as the new operations and engineering director, encompassing overall responsibility for design, engineering, project management, planning, document control, production and all construction activities.

Craig Bussey is a former manufacturing superintendent having joined MTE in January 2005 and is now taking on the role of production manager responsible for ensuring all existing and potential client production-based requirements and expectations are fulfilled in terms of delivery, timeliness, efficiency and quality.

Carl Roberts has been a valued senior member of the company for over ten years and has recently been appointed to the position of Director of Projects and Mech Tool Korea.  Carl will have overall responsibility for ensuring all major projects with MTE UK and Korea are completed on specification, to time and on budget.

Also, internally promoted, Craig Swainston takes on the role of senior project manager having worked for the company since November 2016. Craig will be providing day to day oversight and direction to the multi-disciplined internal production team reporting to the business unit director and ensuring that MTE discharge their contractual obligation, to manage & control the execution of specific projects from order acceptance through to final account submittal.

Kerry Shotton held the position of financial controller at MTE for over three years and has recently been appointed to the head of finance role, leading both the MTE and MTK finance functions.
