Mcor Technologies Wins 3D Print Show Green Award

mcor_logoDUNLEER, Ireland, Sep 12, 2014 – Mcor Technologies Ltd, manufacturer of the only line of desktop paper-based 3D printers in the world, has won the 3D Print Show Green Award, selected by the voting public, adding to the 3D Print Show Brand of the Year Award it won last year.

Mcor 3D printers are the world’s most environmentally friendly 3D printers. They use ordinary letter or A4 paper, including used paper, as the build material. The sheets are bonded together by benign water-based adhesive, forming models as hard as wood. Mcor’s breakthrough color 3D printer, the Mcor IRIS, employs water-based ink to produce more than one million colors and uniquely leverages the global standard ICC profile to provide true color.

At the end of their useful life, Mcor models can be tossed in the recycling bin for cradle-to-grave sustainability. Mcor’s 3D printers spare users the damaging substances, including chemicals, fumes, airborne microparticles or toxic waste, involved with competing brands. Their 3D printers require no dangerous post-processing. Users simply pull away the support material by hand or with common tweezers and recycle the scrap.

Mcor was selected for this award after receiving the highest number of public votes, following a process in which applications were submitted and a panel of judges, comprised of industry specialists, narrowed the large field of award candidates to a short list of finalists.
