Maplesoft Announces Maple Ambassador Program

maplesoft_logoWATERLOO, Canada, Nov 13, 2015 – Maplesoft, a leader in software products for technical education and research, has announced the Maple ambassador program, designed to provide increased influence and visibility for enthusiasts of its product Maple. An official Maple Ambassador will inspire and educate others on their own campuses, and beyond, about the benefits that Maple brings to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education.

Those who are accepted into the program will have the opportunity to influence the development of Maple through regular meetings with Maplesoft developers, and get advance news of upcoming features and products. Ambassadors will also have access to Maplesoft resources to aid in the organization of Maple events and tutorials on their campus. For those who wish it, Maple ambassadors will be given the opportunity to showcase their own Maple-related research and teaching activities on the Maplesoft website.

Maple ambassadors, in turn, will help champion the product on their campus and beyond. This can be done in a variety of ways, such as by sharing their Maple experiences, answering questions about Maple on forums, arranging Maple tutorials, and sharing their work with the Maple community. They will also have many opportunities to provide product feedback to Maplesoft, for both current and upcoming products.

“Maple has many champions on campuses around the world who are already sharing their excitement with others, out of their appreciation for the product,” said Jim Cooper, president and CEO, Maplesoft. “Through the Maple ambassador program they will now receive support from Maplesoft as they continue to enthusiastically share their love of Maple. The ambassador program will also help us find faithful and passionate Maple users that we haven’t yet had the chance to meet and thank.”

About Maplesoft

Maplesoft, a subsidiary of Cybernet Systems Co., Ltd. in Japan, has over 25 years of experience developing products for technical education and research, offering a solution that applies to every aspect of academic life. Its product suite reflects the philosophy that given great tools, people can do great things.

Maplesoft’s core technology is the world’s most advanced symbolic computation engine, which is the foundation for all of its products, including Maple, the technical computing and documentation environment; MapleSim, the high-performance, multi-domain modeling and simulation tool for physical systems; and Maple T.A., a web-based system for creating and assessing online tests and assignments.

Maplesoft also introduced a fundamental shift in technical education through its Clickable Math and Clickable Engineering initiatives. The idea behind this shift is to create technology that will allow students and teachers to focus on the concepts, not the tool. These initiatives deliver powerful mathematics through visual, interactive point-and-click methods in Maple, while the intuitive physical modeling environment of MapleSim helps teachers to quickly demonstrate the connection between modeling concepts and the underlying mathematical theory.

Over 90% of advanced research institutions and universities worldwide, including MIT, Stanford, Oxford, the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and the U.S. Department of Energy, have adopted Maplesoft solutions to enhance their education and research activities. In industry Maplesoft’s customers include Ford, Toyota, NASA, Canadian Space Agency, Motorola, and DreamWorks, covering sectors such as automotive, aerospace, electronics, defense, consumer products, and entertainment.
