Luxion Releases KeyShot v7.3

TUSTIN, CA, Apr 6, 2018 – Luxion, a leading developer of advanced rendering and lighting technology and maker of KeyShot, the first real-time ray-tracing and global illumination program for 3D rendering and animation, announced the release of KeyShot 7.3, and with it the all new KeyShot Viewer, a free, feature-rich application to compliment design reviews, interactive presentations and visual collaboration.

With KeyShot 7, users gained the ability to create unlimited studio, model, and material variations useful during various stages throughout the product development process. KeyShot 7.3 builds on this with the release of KeyShot Viewer. KeyShot Viewer is a new, freely available application for users who desire to share their work in design reviews, product presentations or as a configurator on high-resolution displays. This allows designers, engineers and 3D professionals a way, not possible before, to present high-quality visuals in real-time with accurate lighting, shadows and material appearance.

How KeyShot Viewer Works

With quick output of a KeyShot scene file at any time, the use of KeyShot Viewer fits perfectly within the product development workflow. KeyShot users first apply their light and material within KeyShot then save a KeyShot scene file. The scene can be shared with anyone, viewed and interacted with, displayed on a tablet or a high-resolution touch panel using the KeyShot Viewer. As a standalone application with password encryption and watermark option, KeyShot Viewer can be shared internally and offline, or securely with offsite vendors or personnel. More information about KeyShot Viewer, a video overview and download is available here.

Very, very cool! I can’t wait to send this to all my clients and blow their mind away! Thank you KeyShot team for doing this – another dream comes true!,” says Peter K. of Pixel Mathematics.

“KeyShot viewer enables the distribution of real-time product configurations to non-users and users alike. This has drastically reduced the amount of time spent on rendered output,” says Justin Schlothauer of Under Armour.

Other KeyShot 7.3 Features and Updates

KeyShot 7.3 comes with several other new features and improvements. For KeyShot Pro, users now have the option to ‘Add Multi-Material to the Render Queue. This adds all sub-material variation as a single render job for output. Along with this, setup time has been improved for applying Rounded Edges to geometry, turntable animations have been added to top-level models in the scene tree and direct import support has been added for SOLIDWORKS 2018, SketchUp 2018 and NX 12. See the Release Notes for KeyShot 7.3 here.
