Lear’s Reynaldo Reyes to Present at PLM Road Map

CIMdata_logoANN ARBOR, MI, Sep 29, 2016 – CIMdata, Inc., the leading global PLM strategic management consulting and research firm, has announced that Reynaldo Reyes, director of engineering tools and processes at Lear Corp., will make a presentation at PLM Road Map for the Global Automotive Industry. This one-day event will be held on 3 November at the Inn at St. John’s, Plymouth, Michigan.

The cost calculation for a typical product change requires the involvement of several disciplines within a typical organization. In many organizations, the PLM system and workflow are kept very simple and tend to capture minimal information regarding cost, usually limited to cost summaries. This presentation, “Product Change Cost Calculations in the Change Management Workflow,” will describe how organizations can bring the calculation of cost and price into the PLM workflow by extending the data model to capture the elements necessary for such cost calculations, standardizing the way those calculations are performed and presented, and making the PLM system the master of such information.

Reynaldo Reyes is the IT director for global engineering systems and processes at Lear Corporation, where he has worked for the last 22 years. After spending five years as a manufacturing and process engineer for automotive wire harnesses, he spent three years in the Six Sigma organization, where he became a Master Black Belt. Through the Six Sigma initiatives, he became involved with continuous improvement activities related to engineering change management processes. Mr. Reyes has spent most of the last 15 years developing and deploying large engineering change management systems and PLM with a focus on the electrical and electronic products made by Lear’s E-Systems division.

PLM Road Map 2016 for the Global Automotive Industry is the must-attend event for automotive industry executives (OEMs and suppliers) and PLM practitioners—providing independent education and a collaborative networking environment where ideas, trends, experiences, and relationships critical to the automotive industry germinate and take root. The theme for this year’s event is “The Changing Face of PLM in the Automotive Industry.”
