Larson Electronics announced the release of an explosion proof receptacle for use in Class I, Divisions 1 and 2 hazardous locations. This receptacle with disconnect switch provides a secure power connection for portable or stationary electrical equipment in flammable locations. This unit is 100-amp rated and features a housing made of copper-free aluminum with an epoxy powder coated finish.
The EPO-100A-PS explosion proof receptacle with disconnect switch is rated for use in Class I, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups B, C and D; Class II, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups F and G; and Class III hazardous locations. The housing on this unit is large enough to allow room for wiring and two tapped NPT conduit openings at the top and bottom of the unit. This unit features receptacle contacts that are deeply recessed to avoid accidental contact and an interlocked safety switch that allows safe connection and disconnection within hazardous locations.
Larson Electronics’ explosion proof receptacle with disconnect switch features a receptacle that is made of non-sparking aluminum and plug contacts that are made of brass with beryllium copper wire springs. This 3-wire, 4-pole unit features a shell and extra wire ground design and integral interlocking non-fused motor circuit switch to provide safe connection and disconnection. This unit is rated 600V AC (max) and 250V DC (max) and rated at 100 amps. Suitable applications include industrial and commercial settings, hazardous locations, and more.
