Intergraph PP&M Ships CAESAR II 2016 for Pipe Stress Analysis

Intergraph_logoHUNTSVILLE, AL, Nov 5, 2015 – Intergraph Process, Power & Marine (PP&M), part of Hexagon and the world’s leading provider of enterprise engineering software enabling smarter design and operation of plants, ships and offshore facilities, today announced the release of the commercial availability of Intergraph CAESAR II. The latest version offers support for recent code standards along with productivity updates that makes piping analysis faster and easier.

CAESAR II is the industry de facto standard for pipe stress analysis. It evaluates the structural responses and stresses of piping systems to international codes and standards.

“This new release of CAESAR II affirms our dedication to customers’ ease of use and reliability,” said Rick Allen, president, Intergraph CADWorx & Analysis Solutions. “CAESAR II already offered a wide array of international codes, and this latest release delivers even more end-user value by offering even more of the piping, wind, seismic and equipment codes, which users around the globe have been requesting.”

Patrick Holcomb, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine executive vice president of global business development and marketing, said, “CAESAR II is known for its technical superiority, flexibility and innovation. As a valuable member of the Intergraph portfolio, the new version offers our EPC and owner operator customers an enhanced solution to help them improve operational safety and data quality while reducing costs.”

CAESAR II can leverage FEATools, from Paulin Research Group (PRG), to add finite element analysis capabilities to users’ CAESAR II jobs, to include more accurate stress intensification factors (SIFs) and flexibility factors (K factors) in their analysis. With this release, FEATools is now accessible through a dedicated toolbar menu. Likewise, links to NozzlePRO, also from PRG, allows users to compare multiple file results, assess the sensitivity of model elements, and evaluate nozzle/branch connections with CAESAR II.

The Static Analysis Load Case Editor was redesigned to improve user experience and add more robust functionality when creating and revising load cases for analysis. The software also offers improved distance measurement and faster piping data input.

CAESAR II 2016 offers support for the latest code standards and updates, including the following:

Piping Codes

  • ASME B31.1, 2014 Edition
  • ASME B31.3, 2014 Edition
  • ASME B31.8, 2014 Edition
  • ASME B31.9, 2014 Edition

Wind and Seismic Codes

  • National Building Code of Canada (NBC) Seismic and Wind Codes, 2010 Edition
  • ASCE 7 2010 Edition and IBC 2012 Edition Wind Codes
