InduSoft Releases InduSoft Web Studio v8.1 SP 1

InduSoft has announced an update to their software for industrial automation. InduSoft Web Studio version 8.1 Service Pack 1 (SP1) introduces enhancements to several features increasing the HMI/SCADA software’s capabilities.

The scalability from embedded IIoT applications running on Linux, to embedded HMI and full Windows desktop and server operating systems, allows users to develop deploy their project anywhere.

Users can monitor, and (optionally with security) interact with HMI/SCADA applications via iPads, iPhones, Android tablets, phones and a multitude of other devices.

The Mobile Access thin client allows remote personnel via any current browser to view and change set points, modes, levels and more. Enhancements to Alarm and Event monitoring allow remote users to add file history format to the existing SQL Database format as a source. Now handheld devices take on more of a SCADA dashboard in addition to the remote HMI functionality.

Service Pack 1, adds a new library of Custom Widgets to increase the mobile functionality. The TreeView, Calendar, PieChart, WebBrowser and ImageList Custom Widgets are built using JavaScript and expand the platform agnostic features to any current operating system.

Driver enhancements for Omron PLCs, Siemens S7-1200 and others are in Service Pack 1, and the Ethernet/IP driver has been added for the IoTView (Linux) platform.

Another feature  is the ability to push data directly to the cloud-based Wonderware Online Insight (via CSV and JSON) directly from IoTView runtime station(s) running Linux (for example, on a Raspberry Pi, or embedded directly into a networking device or hardware controller).

InduSoft Web Studio has maintained its commitment to 100% backward compatibility, meaning that applications created in previous versions of the software can still be opened and edited in version 8.1 Service Pack 1.
