MONTREAL, Canada, July 29, 2014 – ICAM Technologies Corp. (ICAM) announced that it will launch CAM-POST FOUNDATION at IMTS 2014 (booth E-3217).
CAM-POST FOUNDATION is an entry-level 2/3 axis NC post-processor development software that can be easily upgraded to more advanced ICAM products that support multi-axis machining applications and other advanced technologies such as mill-turns, waterjets and wire EDMs.
Available under a monthly lease, CAM-POST FOUNDATION allows users to create unlimited 2-axis lathe and 3-axis mill post-processors behind popular CAD/CAM systems such as CATIA, Mastercam and NX.
Manufacturers can now take control of their manufacturing environment by easily and quickly creating, modifying and managing their own 2/3 axis post-processors without relying on third-party products and services.
CAM-POST FOUNDATION includes 50 metric and 50 imperial controller-based post-processors that are ready to execute inside CATIA, Mastercam and/or NX. All these post-processors can be edited to add specific machine tool functions (spindle speed, block numbering, coolant start, program header preferences, etc.) These post-processors can also be used as templates to create completely new controller-based post-processors in addition to the library provided in CAM-POST FOUNDATION.
As a standard feature, CAM-POST FOUNDATION includes a unique “point-and-click” Wizard that allows even the most novice users to generate advanced post-processors quickly and effectively. The Wizard easily guides users through all the various steps involved to create post-processors by using illustrated sets of instructions, which provide an intuitive graphical interface for effortless definition of machine kinematics, axis sign conventions, travel limitations and rotary pivot distance offsets.
“CAM-POST FOUNDATION is a great product for manufacturers that have 2 and 3 axis machines and are tired of relying on vendors to create and tweak their posts,” said Brian Francis, ICAM’s director of R&D. “Users can also trade-in FOUNDATION to upgrade to more advance ICAM multi-axis development tools as the need arises.”
