Holland’s Landre to Sell Optomec LENS 3D Metal Printers

OPTOMEC_logoALBUQUERQUE, NM, Mar 5, 2015 – Optomec, a leading global supplier of production grade additive manufacturing systems for 3D printed metals and printed electronics, today announced it signed an agreement with Landre to represent Optomec’s LENS family of 3D MetalPrinters in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.  Landre, based in the Netherlands, has a broad range of experience in machine tools and rapid prototyping.

Optomec’s LENS family of 3D metal printers are used to cost-effectively repair, rework and manufacture high-performance metal components in materials such as titanium, stainless steel, and super alloys. Landre has an established track record in supporting advanced manufacturing solutions in key industrial sectors, including automotive, aerospace, railways, energy and defense.

“Since LENS printers are used throughout the product lifecycle for applications ranging from repair and rework to low-volume manufacturing, we see them as a strategic addition to our portfolio,” said Jan Floor van Egmond, director of Landre.  “What’s especially exciting about the LENS process is that it can add metal onto an existing substrate of almost any three-dimensional shape, which makes it well-suited for repair operations and to use in conjunction with conventional manufacturing methods.”

“We are very happy to partner with Landre to bring LENS technology to the Benelux”, said Michael Kardos, Optomec vice president of World Wide Sales. “Landre’s long-term expertise in the machine tool market and their more recent experience with 3D printing technologies makes them an ideal partner in reaching a broad customer base in the region.”
