Head of Solid Edge Karsten Newbury Leaves for Gerber Technology

Newbury’s background leading management teams in software systems and solutions, allows Gerber to strengthen the integration of its existing solutions while continuing the development of new offerings for their customers in a broad range of industries.

Gerber was the first to introduce CAD Pattern Making Software for the apparel industry. Today, its AccuMark CAD systems are used by over 14,000 customers to create apparel, furniture and transportation interiors. Gerber’s innovations and technologies assist customers to improve their manufacturing efficiencies in a continually evolving market.

Prior to his new position with Gerber, Newbury was senior vice president and general manager for Siemens PLM Software’s Mainstream Engineering business, and led the company’s global go-to-market and software development efforts. The Mainstream Engineering business was an incubator for new business models, which afforded Newbury a strong history in building winning teams with leading business performance. Newbury also served as Vice President, Integration, with the company, leading the $US 3.7 billion acquisition of UGS (now Siemens PLM Software).

Newbury holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany, with a dual major in computer integrated manufacturing and business administration.
